Documentation of Teaching
The following two courses demonstrate different formats, teaching methods, educational tools, and additional help options I offer students.
Each course module contains the following:
Syllabus: updated each semester
Course Outline of Record: linked to the College of Marin website
Sample Quiz Questions: sample questions from periodic, multiple-choice quizzes in accordance with the NREMT (Fire 112: EMT-1) and NIOSH/CSFM (Fire 110: Intro to Fire) curricula.
Course Activities: find examples of classroom labs and contests used to encompass equitable and diverse learning modalities
Access links to CANVAS Learning Management Platform: peruse both courses within the CANVAS LMS for a deeper dive into modules, lecture links, skills sheets, class discussions, online tutoring, and spurious miscellanea
ENTRY & EXIT Self-Analysis Questionnaires: review Short Answer exercises to help students understand their goals, challenges, strengths, and weaknesses when starting and completing these courses, whether through graduation or dropping out. The goal is to help them focus, solve problems, plan for the future, assess their comprehension for better decision-making, and set achievable goals.
Sample of YouTube Zoom Lecture: view example lectures from classroom and Zoom-recorded lectures.
Course Skills Sheets, Field Trip Proposals, Guest Speakers, and Student Presentations: consider these course items, always in flux within the curricula, according to opportunity and utility.
